summary: For Cass, life was anything but normal, she was born and raised to be one thing and one thing only, a living weapon. Her father, an assassin named David Cain used her as a test subject, he wanted to see if th brain could be taught violence as a first language, and in a way he was successful. Her early years were spent in isolation, the only contact with others was to give or receive pain, language just past her reach, leaving her mute and unable to communicate verbally for the entirety of her upbringing, though she was trained in reading body language, minute facial twitches. As she got older and things progressed she realized her purpose, the reason she was born- made, to kill. It wasn't something she could stomach- she couldn't handle watching the man's face contort as the life drained from him. She wasn't even seven yet. Eventually she fled. She stayed on her own for a while, a nomadic lifestyle better than not living at all.

It wasn't until she met Batman that it all clicked, the symbol that gave her life meaning. She took on the mantle of batgirl, training with Batman and the previous Batgirl helped her find her purpose and her humanity. Slowly but surely she was able to open up, be a person. She even learned to read and eventually, with the help of a psychic, speak and understand language as well.

Cass doesn't speak more than she needs to and is extremely blunt, even when she doesn't need to be. She can be very sarcastic and even teasing but her extremely dry tone can often mask the humor. She is extremely pragmatic, and tries to be realistic in her expectations. Cass isn’t very good at the emotional side of things and often finds herself feeling awkward when she falls short, though she would not show it.

INTERVIEW RECORD

████: How do you feel about the idea of being far from home? Is there anything you’ll miss?
CASS: This isn't the first time........

████: You seem like a resilient person. Would you say that you are?
CASS: Yes.

████: Alright, how about this? Describe some of your strengths and weaknesses.
CASS: *She looks down for a long moment.* No.

████: Imagine the world ends today. What does that look like to you?
CASS: I wouldn't let that happen.

████: Let’s say you’re faced with a twist on the classic trolley problem: a trolley is headed for five people who’ve been tied to the tracks. You could pull the lever and divert the trolley, killing four people. Do you pull the lever? Does it make a difference?
CASS: I would stop the trolley.

████: Tell me about a dream you’ve had before. Good, bad… it doesn’t really matter.
CASS: It's dark, and I can't find my family... It's a bad dream.
