summary: A mining town, a generation forgotten with only memories in the shape of old rusted out machinery. The mines had been long shut down when she was born, her family still dedicated to their life underground, moving wasn't an option. It was home. She was ten when she lost her dad. An accident, they said. A freak animal attack. She knew better. It twisted her up inside, the looks people gave her. The sympathizing pitying looks, the "you poor things". No one knew the truth, no one would believe her anyway. No one would have assumed what her father was actually mixed up in. Getting involved with the crime consortium, Praxis, wasn't necessarily her intention but as she got older they offered her a home. A family. They told her stories about her father, and taught her everything they could. As the years ticked by she climbed the ranks and what she lacked in physical strength she made up for in cruelty and will power.
She stayed with the crime syndicate for a long time, the only family she ever really knew, traveling the world on their dime. She goes all over the place, hacking jobs mostly. She likes to feel useful, even when she's not. Jael likes to believe she's truly independent, relying and needing no one but she's fast to become obsessed with those she admires. She forms crushes easily and falls for people even easier, however fleeting those feelings last. Before being pulled here, Jael could be found hunched over her laptop in a miscellaneous motel.

INTERVIEW RECORD
████: How do you feel about the idea of being far from home? Is there anything you’ll miss?
JAEL: [Her eyes seem to wander in thought before narrowing with knitted brows] I.. don't really care.... No, I won't miss a thing.
████: You seem like a resilient person. Would you say that you are?
JAEL: Why do you want to know? Are you taking notes on me? What are you doing with this information? Is everyone being recorded like this?
████: Alright, how about this? Describe some of your strengths and weaknesses.
JAELE: Oh, come on. It would be completely braindead to tell you, a complete stranger, that. As if I would just hand that over, I wasn't born yesterday- Stop writing that down-
████: Imagine the world ends today. What does that look like to you?
JAEL:.. The.. I guess it would depend on how the world ends, is it all at once- or maybe slowly, over time as everyone dies and things decay into nothing.. I don't know, I guess it wouldn't really matter. I'd be dead, presumabley.
████: Let’s say you’re faced with a twist on the classic trolley problem: a trolley is headed for five people who’ve been tied to the tracks. You could pull the lever and divert the trolley, killing four people. Do you pull the lever? Does it make a difference?
JAEL: I don't think I would ever be in a situation like that. That's stupid. I guess, if I had to, I'd kill the four people so it's not as bad.
████: Tell me about a dream you’ve had before. Good, bad… it doesn’t really matter.
JAEL: I don't really dream a lot. There is one, I don't like it- I wake up and it's dark. I hear this screaming but it's hushed. It's dark- so dark. I go down this hallway but it just keeps going. No matter how much I keep going, I don't.. I don't get anywhere. The scream is always the same distance away, no matter how much I run. It's just dark.
